This Privacy Policy details our commitment to protecting your personal information. When reading our Privacy Policy ‘you’ means any party that provides personal information to us and ‘we’ or ‘us’ or “our” means Votive Limited aka Chandler & Me and our successors or assignees.

This policy relates to the information you provide to us via our website (Site) and on social media, email, forms, promotions, and other means of communication.

We will never knowingly sell, share, or disclose your personal information to any third parties for any reason other than to efficiently provide our products and services to you as detailed in this privacy policy.

Collection of personal information

During the course of making transactions and interactions we may collect from you: your name, contact details, email address, billing/ mailing or street address, postcode, telephone number, birthday.

We may collect and store details of products and services we have provided to you,  your product preferences, testimonials, reviews, as well as pictures of you and/or products you have made that you have chosen to share.

We may collect details of  your online shopping session including device and network information, statistics relating to page views, referral sources, search queries, browsing behavior and geo-location data.

We may collect any additional information that you provide to us via associated applications and social media platforms.

Note that we do not keep credit card information on file; all transactions are processed via a third party secure provider (presently we use STRIPE).

Collection of data for ecommerce transactions

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  1. Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
    Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  2. Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
  3. We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
  • If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

MailChimp Email Marketing

When shopping, Mailchimp may keep a record of your email and the cart contents for up to 30 days on their servers. This record is kept to repopulate the contents of your cart if you switch devices or needed to come back another day. Read our privacy policy here.

Where we disclose your personal information to third parties, we do so only for the purposes of completing transactions and for information sharing between you and us. Any third party we engage is required to follow this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of your personal information.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

  • Request for information: you may request details of all the personal information that we have on file about you at any time via email. You can also check and update your personal details on the “my account” page of our website.
  • You can also request a copy of personal data we hold, and request it’s anonymization and / or removal by visiting the User Data Request page and completing the form.
  • Complaints: should you believe that we have breached the privacy rights of your jurisdiction and wish to make a complaint, please contact us by email setting out details of your complaint. We will investigate and respond to you via email with the results of our investigation including what steps we will take (if any) to remedy your complaint.

Storage and Security of Data

We maintain high industry standards for physical, electronic and administrative procedures to safeguard your information from misuse, interference, loss or unauthorized access. Whilst we take all practicable steps, we cannot 100% guarantee the security of any information that you provide us. The exchange of information is carried out at your own risk.

Cookies

We use cookies on our Site. Cookies are small text files placed in your computer’s browser to store your preferences and make it easier and faster to use our services. Cookies, by themselves, do not provide us personally identifiable information. However, they do allow third parties such as Google and Facebook to place our advertisements on your social media and online media feeds as part of our marketing efforts. Our Site may contain links to other websites of interest. Whilst we take care to send you only to reliable sites, when you follow an external link you exit from this privacy policy. We have no control over linked sites and will not be held liable for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting (external) linked websites.

Article Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Geolocation IP Detection

This site is using GeoLite2 City database to identify the geographic location of your IP address. This site is saving the IP of the visitors of the last 1 week for performance reasons. This information is used to direct you to the relevant part of our website for your detected region.

Amendments

This Privacy Policy may be amended at our discretion without express notification. Your continued use of our Site following any amendments indicates that you accept the amendments.
